Working on automation projects at Van der Leun means working on control systems for hybrid ships, such as ferries, tugs and fire-fighting boats. Hybrid installations can now also be found on various types of workboats, such as crane vessels, for example in the form of batteries and/or capacitors. All this in order to be able to use the available energy sources as optimally as possible.
In addition to these PMS (Power Management Systems) and EMS (Energy Management Systems), there are many other systems on board that are controlled via a DCS (Distributed Control System). For all these systems, we also develop the HMI with which the operators can operate the ship's systems.
We also have a large number of small projects. There, for example, the controls must be programmed for hydraulic and electrically driven installations for winches, jacking and skidding systems.
As Software Engineer you are responsible for designing and writing the PLC software for electrical control systems for maritime and offshore projects. You take care of the testing and commissioning of the software as well as for troubleshooting at locations in the Netherlands and abroad.
You are responsible for the technical documentation and specifications in collaboration with the project team. You alternate your work at the office with work at the project locations in the Netherlands and abroad.
You will work for a growing and dynamic family business. The working atmosphere is good and informal. We have an active staff association and a monthly Friday afternoon drink. It is also possible to adjust your working hours and workplace to what suits you.
We work under the Collective Labor Agreement for Metal and Technology. You will receive a salary appropriate to your age, education and work experience. This will be discussed with you at an early stage. You are entitled to travel allowance, 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days. You will also be registered with the Pension Fund Foundation for the 'Metaal & Techniek' and you will have the opportunity to participate in the collective health insurance. You will have access to a mobile phone and laptop.
Your own children can claim a contribution towards the study costs from our study fund. If you want to follow a training or course, we reimburse these costs from our study costs regulations.
